The Maryland Department of Aging has received notification from the U.S. Administration for Community Living that the request for a waiver of the state plan duration limit was approved. This approval means that the current 2016-2020 Maryland State Plan has been extended one-year and will remain in effect until September 30, 2021. The extension will allow the Department to continue to focus attention on its response to the pandemic and to develop a state plan informed by the affect the pandemic has had on Maryland's older adults and the delivery of services.
* In accordance with the Older
Americans Act of 1965, as amended, the Maryland Department of Aging is required
to develop and implement a State Plan on Aging to provide
a framework for activities related to programs, activities, and services
for older adults. The current state plan is in effect October 1,
2016 through September 30, 2021.
